John Cruz Joins Rise Staff

Rise would like to welcome the newest member of our staff, John Cruz as Data Management Coordinator. John will replace Eleanor Tutt, who has been in the position for the past nine years and is taking a short sabbatical to focus on her personal life and volunteer projects. She will be seeking opportunities to use her data analysis and mapping skills to work in the field of social justice. We will miss Eleanor and wish her the very best in all of her endeavors.

John is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan, where he completed a Masters Degree in Urban Planning with a concentration in Economic Development. John’s research focused on economic development strategies for urban areas, demographics research, placemaking strategies, retail business development, and transit-oriented development. He has used his extensive background in programming and information technology to utilize database systems and Geographic Information Systems.

John has worked in the community development field with one of our partners, Old North St. Louis Restoration Group, as an intern conducting community development research, grant writing, IT, and organization based work. He is skilled in data collection, GIS mapping, social media, photography, and website development.

We are fortunate to have John on our staff and  encourage all of our partners and associates to make John feel at home with Rise.

Feel free to contact John at 314.333.7017 or [email protected]john-web-profile-2015.
