Jami is a Saint Louis native, born and raised in University City. As a Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar, Jami earned a BA in Public Policy Studies with a concentration in urban policy and development from Vanderbilt University. Upon graduation Jami was awarded a Schwarzman Scholarship and attended Tsinghua University in Beijing, China earning an MS in Global Affairs. Her master’s thesis focused on international regional developmental policy with an emphasis on Chinese interregional planning practices.
After graduating from the Schwarzman Scholars program, Jami returned to Saint Louis where she currently works as a development analyst in multifamily and student housing. Her passion for urban development and equitable planning practices brought her to Rise YP as a Young Friend in 2019. In her free time, she enjoys reading books in local cafes’ & watching live theater performances.
